Pandemic Pod Contract Template 2020 Between Families Names and Care/Taker Teacher



We want our Caretaker/Teacher {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name}, the {List each families last name} to have the safest and healthiest care situation possible, so that our kids flourish with the help of {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name}, care. The following guidelines serve as a way to make it clear for all families and {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name how the care arrangement will be structured and managed.

These guidelines may change over time and we would like this agreement to serve as a working document.

Start Date

{Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} will start child care responsibilities starting {Insert Date}

Work Hours

40 hours per week

Monday: 7:30 – 5:30

Tuesday: 7:30 – 5:30

Wednesday: 7:30 – 5:30

Thursday: 7:30 – 5:30

Include any nuances for families

If the schedule changes, the families will communicate to {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} a specific schedule for impacted week no later than the Friday before the week starts.

Compensation

Families will pay {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} $XXX per hour for child care during the times listed above.

{Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} will be paid on a {Monthly, or however aligned upon) basis (each Thursday).

Payments will be made either through {Whatever payment systems agreed upon : check, cash, care.com etc}

The families will reimburse {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} for any reasonable and pre-approved out-of pocket- expenses (e.g. food, gas required to take the children on outings to parks, libraries, etc.).

Location

The care will be located at at {Insert Location}

All liabilities are waived from designated families location

The families will reimburse {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} for any reasonable and pre-approved out-of pocket- expenses (e.g. food, gas required to take the children on outings to parks, libraries, etc.).

Vacations

{Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} will be paid during vacation days during the school year.

When any family is on vacation, on days that do not overlap with {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name’s} vacation, {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name will be paid her normal hourly rate.

Each family will endeavor to provide {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} with a 2-week notice for any upcoming vacation days.

Vacation will not roll over year to year, but will be paid out at the end of the calendar year if not used, or in the event that the nanny share ends prior to the end of the year or one family leaves the share.

Unused vacation will be paid out at a rate of .833 days per month worked in the calendar year.

{Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} will provide a minimum of 3 week’s notice for any vacation days to allow the families to make alternative childcare arrangements.

● Each family will be responsible for their share of payments to {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} for her vacation pay.

After Hours Care

If {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} cares for any of the families separately in the evenings or on weekend days (outside of the standard weekly schedule), her hourly rate will be $XXX.

Paid Holidays

{Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} will be given paid time-off for the following holidays during 2020:

Thanksgiving Break: November 23-27 2020

Winter Break: December 21st – January 1st

Spring Break:

Memorial Day: Monday, May 31, 2021

Sick Days

{Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} is provided with up to five paid sick days during 2020, if needed.

The families ask that {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} please call before 6:30 am on any day that she is sick so that we can make alternate plans.

Sick days do not roll over year to year and will not be paid out in the event that the share ends, or one family leaves the share.

Children’s Sick Days

As a guideline, when the families enter into a share care arrangement, the families will agree that when one of the kids has a fever, stomach bug or pink eye, the child should stay home until he/she is better unless both families agree that it is okay for the sick child to be in the share during the time they are ill.

● The family of any sick child will still be responsible for their payment obligations on days that the sick child remains home.

● If anyone is displaying symptoms or been exposed to Covid must inform all parties within contract and keep their child home for 14 days

Daily Activities & Responsibilities {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} daily activities may include:

Overall care and safety of children

Ensuring children are engaging and participating in scheduled classes and activities

Providing support for any questions or situations with children that may arise

Ensuring the safety of children (if needing to be socially distant and properly wearing masks)

Communication

Share with parents any issues that arise including health, behavior, school work and any other problems.

Other Duties

Any chores that align with preparing food for the children and keeping the children’s things clean and in order. Such as:

o Pick up and organize toys and books.

o Keep the children’s rooms, toys, clothes and other personal items clean.

o Preparing bottles for the children and washing the bottles after they are used.

o When the children are ready for solid food, preparing healthy food for them and cleaning-up the dirty dishes.

House Rules

No guests (adult or children) at the house unless parents approve in advance.

Do not open the front door to anyone unless the person identifies him/herself and parents have given prior notice and approval of his/her admittance to the house.

Screens are only for educational purposes only (zoom classes etc)

We would like to be able to reach {Insert Caretaker/Teacher Name} at anytime during working hours via her cell phone.

Safety

Must wear mask around children in and out of the home

Outside of working hours must practice social distance, Covid-Safety measures

Watch children at all times. Do not leave them alone or with any other person.

Ask parents for approval before taking children in any form of public transportation, such as a taxi or bus (except in the case of emergencies).

Keep children away from dogs or other animals .

Ask parents for approval before administering medicine.

Carry ‘Emergency Medical Treatment Authorization’ form and know where to locate the copy in the house.

Be familiar with emergency procedures, for events such as earthquakes and fires, at the house.

Provide parents with name and phone number of two relatives/friends to contact in case of emergency.

Do not drive the children in rainy weather.
